Type: Contract, 12+ months

Client Overview:
A Joint Venture operation consisting of a global engineering corporation that is headquartered out of Japan along with a premier large scale Construction company and a world-renowned global Engineering Procurement and Construction company.
Position Summary:
The I&C Loop/Functional Test Technician is responsible for The Commissioning Loop/Functional Test Technician is to perform all commissioning activities to ensure that the I&C loops meets all engineering, construction, and installation requirement. Preform loop and functional testing to determining that it is ready for startup. Prior to testing ensure that any potential hazards are identified and mitigated before beginning the commissioning activities in accordance with Project Safety Management plan. This role will be performed at the job site, specifically, LNG Train-1/2/3, General utility area and Brown Field once the area handed over to Commissioning.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Loop Walkdown,
Package Equipment loop walkdown with vender representatives,
Check installation verses installation drawings, identifying deficiencies,
Communicate with Board Operator during loop and functional check,
Use a Tablet to document Pre-Loop, Loop, or Function test using Hexagon,
Per-Loop Test to confirm loop readiness for Loop Test using test kit and the information provided in the document list above,
Loop test using the test kit and information provided in the document listed above,
Function test using the test kit and information provided in the document listed above,
Red-Lining drawings using a Tablet to note deficiency,
Document finding using a Tablet of successful testing and outlining deficiency found, when necessary,
Create “punch list” items using a Tablet and Hexagon,
Review and identify any hazards during pre-commissioning and Commissioning Risk Assessment reviewing such as high pressure, high temperature, chemicals, flammable gas, electrical power, etc. to use appropriate safety protections,
Follow WMS and JSA’s as applicable to specific tasks,
Setup barricade and tagging per the LOTO plan, indicating commissioning areas and systems,
Attend and participate in weekly site safety team meetings,
Requirements:
Has a thorough understanding of Safety requirements related to commissioning and start-up activates
Technical Knowledge:
Current testing equipment,
Desktop, and tablet computers,
Current instrumentation,
Current Distributed Control Systems, Emersion DeltaV, and DeltaV-SIS,
PLC technology
Signals, Transmission, and Networks: 4-20mA, HART, Serial (RS232, RS422, & RS485), Modbus (TCP & serial), and Ethernet,
Database completions documentation such as Hexagon Intergraph Smart Completions using desktop computer and tables a plus.
Base Documentation Knowledge:
Understand the information within the following documents and how this information applies to loop and function checking:
Instrument datasheet,
Instrument installation drawings,
Instrument location layout drawings,
Loop drawings,
Wiring diagrams,
One-line diagrams a plus,
Functional control narratives,
Functional test plan,
Cause and Effect diagrams,
The use and understanding the information provided by Piping & Instrument Drawings as applied to Loop and Functional testing,
Use and compete “B-Check Sheets” in Hexagon and/or PDF format.
Understand safety procedures, including Lock-Put/Tag-Out in both the construction and commissioning environments.
Understand and safety perform work at heights with harness, personal lifts, and scaffolding,
NFPA (NEC), 70, National Electrical Code
NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
Safety conscious
A sound knowledge of safety with its procedure
Effective communication and interpersonal relationship skills
Follow and promote safety, quality, and environmental principles
Ability to work in a collaborative and multi-cultural team environment
Preferences:
Experience within the LNG industry strongly preferred
Experience working on large scale project
Commissioning, maintenance, operational, and start-up experience is a plus,
Understanding Functional control narratives is a plus,
Understanding Functional test plan is a plus,
Distributed Control Systems, Emersion DeltaV a plus, and
Safety Instrumented Systems, DeltaV-SIS a plus,
Electrical Control Management Systems, Ovation a plus,
Working knowledge of the Internet, Local Area Network technology, and Fiber Optic Technology,
Hexagon Intergraph Smart Completions using desktop computer and tables a plus.
Education:
Five (5) years with the one of the following technical training and/or certification:
National Center for Construction Education & Research – Instrumentation Level 4
International Society of Automation – Certified Control System Technician Level 1
Eight (8) years of verifiable employment experience, technical and/or certification a plus
